What an account is for

API keys for the developer API, this month’s usage of your account on each meter (every key you hold draws on the same quota), your plan, and the three checking aids — hear your manuscript, Hear it in the pronunciation guide and proof-listen — which download a speech model from this site and start only when you are signed in. You can also save book projects: chapter order, technical results, pickup excerpts, review decisions and notes. Save is an explicit choice; recordings and full manuscripts stay on your device. When you return, choose the recordings again to continue audio work. The checker, the fixer, the batch checker and other audio tools work without signing in.

Plans

• Starter, included during beta: 60 audio minutes and 10,000 text-to-speech characters a month, 1 job a minute, 20 a day.
• Pro, $12 a month (free during beta): 1,200 audio minutes and 200,000 text-to-speech characters a month, 5 jobs a minute.

A check costs its audio minutes once and a fix costs them twice; text-to-speech is charged per started thousand characters. A job is charged once, on what the worker actually measured, not on what was declared. Pro is $12 a month (free during beta): nothing is charged and no card is asked for.

Per file: at most 400 MiB, 120 minutes, 96 kHz and 2 channels; text-to-speech at most 10,000 characters. Across everybody, the API processes at most 3,000 audio minutes and 150,000 text-to-speech characters a day; past that it answers 429 site_daily_ceiling until midnight UTC.

What Google sends us

The openid, email and profile scopes and nothing more: a stable account identifier, which we store only as a one-way hash; your email address, to recognise you when you return; and your name, to show you who is signed in. We request no scope that reaches your mail, files, calendar or contacts, and we hold no token that lets us act at Google on your behalf. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or let a person read it except at your request. The privacy policy is the binding version of this paragraph.

Signing out and deleting

Sign out clears the session on this device. Deleting the account removes the identifier, the email, the name, every API key and every job record at once, from the bottom of this page once you are signed in, or within 30 days if you email support@narratorcheck.com. Revoking our access at Google stops any further sign-in and changes nothing about the tools.
